?'s about ignition components
Well..I posted this once before but I really need help so I'll repost this question in hopes for a better response. I did search the boards but I cant find what Im looking for. If there is a thread started that could help me with my questions just give me the link and I'll read other peoples posts so I dont have to waste space on this board. The time has come for me to replace the following: Ignition coil, pickup coil, and the module. (BTW what is the correct term for the module? My boss says its the ICM module but I dont think he's right) Im not looking for AC Delco replacement pieces so obviously Im looking for performance...granted I wont win races/turn heads with a performance coil ect ect but every little bit helps. Would it be smarter to opt to change out the coil, pickup and module or just get a performance distributor. The motor is a stock 305 TPI with a MAP Sensor..not a MAF Sensor. Im just very confused on what I should do. Any info would be very helpful at this point. Thanks...

Thanks for the link Doctor J. I did learn a little bit here and there but am still very undecided on what I should do with my ignition system. Im not made of money but I dont care what it costs to get my car running right. Im leaning on a new "ready to go" distributor but when I go through Summit and Jegs catologs I cant figure out which distributor I should buy. Hopefully somebody on here can help me with my dilemma. If I cant make headway on my car in the next couple weeks I doubt I'll be going to the thirdgen nationals... Thanks again for the link Doctor J. Later..

gotta thank 1991tealRSt-topGuy (again) for the link but does anybody have any thoughts on Mallory or MSD "ready to run" distributors??? If anybody has bad or good thoughts on MSD, Mallory, ect ect. PLEASE post your thoughts but dont say MSD/Mallory stinks and not give a reason. If you've run a certain kind of ignition components in the past and REPEATEDLY had problems with them let me know. In the next week or two my boss is leaving for vacation and that means that Im gonna be bored in work. No boss + nothing to do in the shop= me working on personal car(s). Again thanks for anyones input...
