Got Car Fixed--but Still Weird Problem

Well--I finally got my car back from the shop(86 camaro z28 tpi auto) and the problem was the guy before me had tightened the valves way to tight and he also put the valve covers on backwards. So the engine runs great and I have been having fun driving her in my neighborhood doing burnouts around the corners(cant go on streets, tag office is making me wait 6 weeks for a tag because it hasnt been registered it 3 years), so i had fun. The weird problem is the MAF CODE 34 still comes on. The mechanic said he hooked it up to this machine that looks at all the sensors and he said its working fine, but i still get a check engine soon light, and yes we reset the computer...does anyone know why its giving us a false code?(And also no i Dont have the faulty 86 prom, its a hypertech stage 3 chip)

Like i said the engine runs great but im still getting a code 34--i replaced the computer, have a new wells su-145 maf, and have different chip than the chip that can cause these false codes--any ideas from anyone? does the engine run in limp home mode when the light comes on, cause maybee i have more power than i think, so when i get rid of this light i will have even mroe fun

I don't know if its been looked at, but you may have your relays (MAF and MAF Burnoff) checked to make sure both are working. I had a similar problem and replaced every sensor I could find, and it turned out to be the Burnoof relay.

Problem

I have only noticed two things weird with the car. The car runs excellent except for this one time when i put the car park after driving around the neighborhood, when i put on the gas the car would die..i let it sit for about 5 minutes, started it back up and it was gone--Another thing that has happend twice is i put it in drive from park and it will die and i can start it back up and put it in drive and it will be fine.

im getting a code 34 off on on--i noticed when i was going around he neighborhood i got on it once and the light came on them, i noticed a little surged for about a half-second then everything went to normal except the code popped up.

i dont know if i have a bad maf sensor--the mechanic said the maf is working properly--but i dont know what would cause the car to only do it every now and then.

The TPS is set at .54V At Idle

Well, that sounds exactly like how mine started. But eventually it stalled at every light, and I had to learn how to drive with 2 feet, one on the gas, and one on the brake. Anyway, I think that doing tests on the sensor itself shows that the MAF relay is working, but you need to test the other one. If you go ask people at Autozone about the code, they'll print out a long sheet of things to test and how test them to find exactly what the problem is.

My problem ended up being the burnoff relay, after hundreds of dollars on sensors, it was a $19 relay that fixed it. You may want to check that out.
