Engine runs like ****
Hallo to everybody !!!
I have a problem with my 85-er IROC (305-TPI/TH700/all stock) which happens from one second to another : My car sounds like a tractor and I lost a lot of power. I checked the sparkplugs, the sparkplug wires, the ignition coil, the distributor cap, the air filter and the catalytic converter: No result. I got no SES-light, used a Scanner: Nothing unusual. Whe I shift from P to D, the engine is almost dieing.
Any solutions ???
Thanks, Uwe

How's your fuel pressure?
My car had this problem when I first bought it a couple years back. Turned out to be the fuel pump, some sensors, and those sensor's respective wiring.

I have to check this out, but I have no fuel pressure gauge at home. Perhaps I can get one from a buddy. Another symptom I forgot to mention : After 10 km driving, my temperature has rised to 220 degrees although the weather here in Germany isn´t very hot in April. Therefore I supposed a problem with the ignition or perhaps a dead cylinder.
What did you do to it ... anything?
This is a super long shot ... but ...
If you took the runners off, and didn't get them back in the original place, it is possible to mirror image them the wrong way, and leave a giant gaping vacuum leak that would cause almost everything you just desribed to happen.
Also, if the engine is throwing any codes ... be sure to capture those.

Sorry, I forgot to write you the solution for my problem ( I found it after 3 days of checking everything ). I looked under the hood, it was already dark outside, and suddenly I saw a plug from an ignition-wire ( at the distributor-cap ) sparkle. I changed the plug, and everything was allright again.
Thanks for your help, guys
