HSR? regaurding vaccuum fitings+oil deflect shield

What angle barb fittings are you guys running for the PCV and brake booster? I currently had a 90 and 45 like Kevin Gray has but Im thinking that the PCV line will be kinked if I use the 90. My PCV is in the front of the drivers valve cover. Has anyone used the 3/8" NPT hole under the plenum at all to run a PCV? Can I get away with a breather instead or is that not reccomneded?

Also, has anyone made an oil deflect shield for the HSR? I see Kevin made one in one of the pictures but it looks like the pushods come too close to it. What have you guys come up with for this?

I guess this really is not an awnser but more of a comment.

I just got done with my HSR install, (well distributor is not tuned in right yet...damn rain).. and I just used straight fittings in the back of the plenum, it worked great .

I also had issues with the PCV and just decided to ditch it all together. I see alot of people running the breathers and I think that is what I am going to do.

I too was wondering about the oil deflector...as it wasent really mentioned in the GMTHP article..

as for the oil deflector. I think Im gonna re use my TPI one and makeit work on the HSR somehow. I would run a breather too but I hear its not good. It lowers your oil pressure too I heard.

That's what I ended up doing. I used a 90 deg 3/8" NPT adapter that I had laying around from an SLP header install kit. See this thread for a picture. I turned it so it points to the drivers side valve cover, then screwed in the straight barb fitting into that. It works fine. I do run a breather on the other valve cover.

As for the oil shield, I didn't bother making one work. With it being a tunnel ram style design I don't think oil will splash high enough to reach the bottom of the intake. With a standard TPI base it would be a problem. I drove around for a couple of weeks with the HSR. I then pulled it off to do my cam swap. There was barely any oil under the intake, nor was there any evidence of oil splashing on the bottom of the intake.
