how will it run with these mods

OK, I'm starting my tpi conversion, the engine is a 1982 305 LG-4, the stock cam is staying and I'm going to install 1.6 full roller rockers to get a little more valve lift, the tpi is a speed density with painless harness, I'm also going to add a set of edelbrock tubular smog headers and 3 inch catback, I have a 3.73 posi disc brake rear end, serpentine belt drive with dual electric fans are also going to be added. I also have a set of 1984 5.0 ho cylinder heads, are the LG-4 heads and these the same

do I have a good combination going here the car now has a 5 speed, it was currently a 3 speed auto with 2.73 gears and stock 145 hp. what kind of performance improvements can I expect from the car

I didn't know you could get a 3rd gen with a 3-speed auto.

I think you'll be running similar times to the Lb9s... perhaps a little slower due to the cam and heads but you're doing a good thing by getting the 1.6's, those will help. I would at least pocket port the ho heads and enlarge the valves. high 14's.

With your stock cam, 3.73 gears will be too much. May be slightly quicker 0-60, but 1/4 mile will be slower. Try 3.42 gears instead.
