i give up

after replacing the maf, maf burnoff relay and plug, and maf power relay. the goddamn code 33 still comes up? i only have one idea left, the little clip on the maf harness is broken but the plug still is snug when i plug it into the maf, could this be it? im losing hope in this code 33 thing, i think ill never get rid of it.

What you may want to do is run a continuity check on the wires. That is, unplug the ECM and and the MAF sensor and, if you have access to a multi-meter or ohm-meter, locate the same wire on each connector and see if you have continuity along it. Shouldn't be more than an ohm or two. If it's more than some along the wire is a break or intermittent connection. Make sure the wires do not run close to exhaust or are rubbing on anything abrasive or sharp.

I continually had problems with my 87 TPI setup in my S-10. Every so often I would get that same code 33. Changing sensors didn't solve anything for me. It was knocking over a second off my 1/4 mile time, too. Anyway, I've since converted to speed density and have no problems at all.

Sorry I couldn't help, but I think you may want to check those wires. If that doesn't solve it, then you may want to think about the speed density conversion. After selling all the MAF equipment and ECM, the conversion will cost you little more than your time.

I've been playing around with that truck for several years now. I keep changing stuff, so it's hard to say how long it really took. I'd have to know specifically what you want to know.

Before the LT1 intake, heads, and LT4 HOT cam, it ran a best of 14.01 in the 1/4. The 60ft time was 1.9sec.

Your right, TPI is crap.

In fact, I'll take it off your hands for $50.

egr

either way if you have any reason to question whether or not its the MAF or the egr valve check game with both. its a ***ch and a half to take everything apart but still.
