What do you mean by total max timimg?

If you mean:
Max Spark Advance: it is 41.8 in the constants
I would not use it as a tuning tool.

The only time I would disable the knock sensor would be at the track but only if I knew my fuel was nailed with a WB and my high LV8 spark was within reason and I was picking up false knock for some reason that I couldnt solve otherwise.

A virgin AUJP base it available at DIY-EFI or Mike Davis site.

For the track we will be pulling back low rpm timing somewhat and turning full advance on right at the converter flash point. Gonna start with 31 and work from there based on ET and knock retard.

You should not have your base set past 6 unless you have made serious modifications to the stock timing curve. I think you may want to spend some time understanding how the timing curve in the chip is actually applied under different driving conditions otherwise your performace will be very poor due to knock retard or worse yet you might break something, over timed and under fueled is an engines worst nightmare.
From what I remember, the car doesn't like to idle at all at 6* BTDC. I think we had it spitting and sputtering at 8* and 10* was so so..... I dunno... this car is weird. I do understand a little how the timing curves work. On the bright side, it is running a bit rich at part throttle so I have no knock showing up. However, I have yet to do a datalog of any race track blasts... hence my reasons for going to flashproms and going to the track in 2 weekends.
