used injectors = blown motor?

I need new injectors. im considering LT1 injectors or used SVO injectors.

My friend says that if one of them is bad or clogged i WILL blow my motor. does that sound right? what are the chanced of an injector blowing a motor?

Helpful reply deleted...I hate it when people cross-post the same question in multiple forums.

gee thanks.

i just wanted responses from more than 1 group of people. this is the first time in over 1000 posts I ever did this, and its because its URGENT information i need. How do i know whether to put this in a place where everyone has injectors or everyone has injector problems? I cannot afford to wait a week to see if anyone answers the post on one board.

If one or more injectors were fully or partially clogged, you run the risk of running those particular cylinders too lean...most likely you'd hear the "ping", but in a worst case scenario, you wouldn;t...could cause the piston to begin to disenigrate..etc...which could lead to a 'blown" engine.

Best bet if you're concerned about used injectors is to send them for cleaning and flow matching...but then you need to weigh the cost vs. new ones.
