Superram Base intake by itself worth installing?
I don't have any aftermarket runners or anything but I was wondering if it was worth taking off the stock tpi lower intake and replacing it with the superram lower intake w/o any other changes but maybe a AFPR. Would it be worth the trouble or should I just wait until I get the runners etc. ?
What would be my aprox. gains? 20hp/ft lbs +/- ?

You have the 5.7? The TPI system was designed for a 5.0 originally with the base being the most restrictive. I'm pretty sure replacing the base (plus maybe porting the plenum) would be beneficial.
I have the opposite problem. I have some SLP runners but no base. Gotta find one for sale somewhere then I'll be set.

Back when I had TPI and a 350 I did that too. Replaced my stock base with an S/R base. At the time I was running mid 13s with my setup. The stock base was just polished up by me to remove some of the casting flash and rough edeges. Well, I put the super ram base on and consistenly lost two tenths and a few mph every time I ran my car. Needless to say I was pissed I wasted almost 400 dollars, so later on I sold it... along with the rest of the TPI crap. I put a carburator on it and an edelbrock RPM intake on it (the 350) and gained almost a second. Ran mid to high 12s all day long. Now... well that's a different story :P

I had an 86 Z28 w/ a carbed 355 and it was sooooo much easier to work on than the Iroc. I just wanted to dip into the FI performance and bought the TPI Iroc......I hope to keep it FI and go quick w/ a 383 but I can always go back to a carb setup I guess if everything else fails.
Should I get the SuperRam base ported before it goes on then?
That might help, I dont know. But for the price of the intake and the porting I'd go with a StealthRam. Which is what I'm doing right now! Hehehe A stealthram with a very agressive solid roller and a 408 under it should make a mean combination. It sure does with a carburator!!
