New Engine = Poor Idle + White-ish Smoke?
New Engine = Poor Idle + White-ish Smoke?
Hi all-
Just finished an engine swap a week ago and am trying to work out a rough idle. Put a A/F gauge on the O2 sensor and it runs just a little lean at idle. Give it a little throttle and it runs just a hair rich (no problem there), but when the throttle closes and it goes back to idle it leans back out and a few puffs of white smoke come out the exhaust.
On a side note, the idle and throttle response is a lot worse before the car warms up a bit. Here's the set up:
1987 Formula 5-speed
300 hp 350 from GoAutoCenter
Accel base and LTRs, stock throttle body
SLP 1 5/8 headers, Dual Cats, Flowmaster exhaust
Holley AFPR
PROM from FastChip
Any thoughts on what this is and fixing it?
Thanks-
