Any tips on changing the oxygen sensor?

I just got a new oxygen sensor and I'm about to replace it. Are there any tips? I read the book and it looks pretty straight forward. Or is this one of those things that's a PITA to get at and turns into an hour long ordeal for one simple thing?

Soak it with penetrating oil for a few days, and use a special tool to remove it,and you'll be fine!

Hey,
They make a special socket for the O2 sensor. It's basically a socket with most of one side missing for the wire to go through. You could probably get away with a wrench though. I'd suggest not trying this with the exhaust hot :-)

I just used a wrench. However, the wire they provide with the o2 sensor is just long enough to reach your connector. Don't give up on it...it will reach.

I don't like the special oxygen sensor socket. It's weak and can slip. If I can't get it out with a wrench, I cut the wire and use a regular socket. A wrench will get the new one tight enough.

My car is such a b!tch.. I didn't even get it off, so I decided I'll do it later this week when I get the right socket. Now my car runs weird... it was almost dying for awhile but now it's smoothed out some... i didn't even get the stupid thing of, hell, it didn't even move. My car hates when I mess with it, even when I have good intentions...
