Electronically limited at 2000 RPM?
Previously I had another post named "10 minutes of performance" in which I believe that fuel was being cut from my vehicle. I am still having the same problem,
(87 IROC, 350 TPI L98)
1. my vehicle will run fine for about 5 - 10 minutes
2. It will then give out and drop below 3000 RPM and from their refuse to rev past 2000 RPM. When it kicks out, it doesnt sputter as though it is out of fuel, it actually torque brakes as though I had just downshifted too high (mind you this is an automatic).
When I shut the car down for a few minutes and restart it, the problem is resolved. Here is what has been replaced already.
1. Fuel filter (in vain)
2. O2 sensor
I have an ADS superchip that I attempted to install right after the fuel filter replacement. Upon installing the chip, I could not get the camaro to start. I replaced it with the original chip and it started up again however, this is also when these problems started as well. For a while I thought the problem was this Redline injector cleaner I put in, so I ran a few tanks of gas through it but still nothing.
I am starting to think that I have a bad chip now. (I have a new MAF on the way just so that I can eliminate the possibility that it is the problem) Anyone have any ideas or had a similar experience to share?

I had a similar problem with my 89 formula, It would not rev over 2000 rpm at times, ended up being a injector intermittantly shorting out and pulling down the whole injector drive circuit. I found it by checking the injectors with a ohm meter. I'ts been a while but i think each injector should read at least 8 ohms. and if by chance you find a bad one you can unplug it and the car should rev up past 2000 rpm's.
