Best oil filter model?
I was looking through the boards and saw posts about the PF-35, PF-35L, and PF-1218 AC Delco filters. I was wondering, what are the differences in them? The post says the 35 is longer then the 25, the 35L is the 35 with a synthetic filter, and the 1218 is the 35L with an anti-drainback valve.
What is better about the synthetic filter? What is the anti-drainback valve for, and do I need it? Also, is anyone sure the PF-1218 has the synthetic filter? I was reading that there's a ultra gaurd gold or something or other... I'm going to change my oil, and I figure I might give one of these different filters a whirl. Thanks.

I would guess the Synthetic filter on the 35L just allows it to filter better. I haven't been able to find 35's anymore, so I just use the 1218, which I don't believe uses the synthetic filter material. The antidrainback valve is more important on engines with the filter mounted sideways, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. I'd just pick up a 1218.
