Error code #32

I'm getting an error code #32 on my Iroc, and looking at the chart here at thirdgen.org, I see that it is:

*********

Fault in barometric pressure sensor circuit OR
Fault in exhaust gas recirculation valve diagnostic switch OR
Fault in electronic vacuum regulator valve

*********

what does that mean? What can correct it? I have no clue what the 3 things listed for that code are.

The only time I see the light come on (other than when I 'hotwire' the computer to get the codes) is when I have been on the interstate for 10 minutes or so, doing over 60.

(edit) Oh yea, I just got my electronic cut out installed, and the fuse for my horn/hatch keeps blowing (can't read the number, cuz it's almost rubbed off). I believe there is supposed to be a 20 fuse in there, but there was a 10. I tried a 20, and it blew, tried a 30, and it blew as soon as I jammed it in. Should I try a 40? or is there something else wrong?

Thanks a bunch guys!!

Oh, also, every now and then when I am backing up, or sitting at a stoplight, I get a faint wiff of gasoline. But only for a second, then it goes away.

I have shoved my head under the hood, under the car, and everywhere, and I never smell gas. Could this be related to the Code 32?

I DID have a pinhole leak in one of my gas lines about 2 months ago, but I could smell the gas ALL the time when that happened. But now it's just on rare occasions.

Well, I'm gonna try a 40 amp fuse, can't hurt anything, can it?

DONT PUT IN A LARGER fuses THAN IS STATED ORIGINALLY!!

If you put in larger fuses you will start burning up wires etc. and you will have a major mess on your hands.

Right now you have a problem, you have to trace it down, by putting in larger fuses will not take care of it!

oh, thank you!!

I was just about to go out and get some 40 amp fuses!

How do you 'trace down" the problem? I don't know much about electrical stuff :-\

Thanks for the reply!!

It is directly underneath the plenum. It is round with a flat top and gold in color. There should be a vacuum line connected to it.
This is a fairly common code and from my experience it's not that big of a deal.

To replace it yes. You can see it with the plenum on though to make sure that the hose is connected to it.

ahh, I guess I'll just leave it alone. My car is running, so I'd better not complain

I'll have someone look at my electrical stuff and see if they can track down the source of the fuse blowing out.

Thanks again guys!

EGR Valve

Had the same thing happen to me - "service engine soon" light comes on at highway speed, but no apparent effect on performance. Check the codes, and voila, 32.
Your EGR valve isn't opening. Better stuck closed than open, in which case you get a VERY rough idle and the car stalls. Not good.
I replaced the solenoid - no effect.
Finally I noticed that the vacuum lines - one from the throttle body to the solenoid, another from the solenoid to the EGR valve itself - were extremely loose. I used an adapter from Advance Auto Parts to snug it in there tight, and the problem went away.
Hope this helps.

we JUST replaced mine..
it was lovely lemme tell you.. But it fixed the problem and helped me clear up other stuff. (Lots o carbon)

I did mine because I didn't want to always have that code an not know if it should throw another code.
