First off, I'm not sure if this needs to be in the tech forum. If it is, can one of the mods please move it.

I wanted to know if you port out the plenum, intake, and runners, if this will have any affect on my emmisions. I'm having problems as it is to get it to pass so that's why I was concerned. I just bought some new SLP runners so while I have everything apart I was thinking of porting the three. Any info/suggestions will be helpful. Thanks, reddragon91

 

I have all three ported(even have SLP ported runners)& never had a problem passing.

im doing the same thing. i just ordered the slp runners but the only thing im porting are the runners and the plenum. all i have heard about porting the intake is horror stories about losing all the bottom end. is your car a 305 or 350?

 

If you do not correct your emissions difficulty, then you'll fail worse with porting. However, correcting the tune of your car, and I am assuming it is mostly stock, should be easy (a good tune up).

 

92-tpi-z --- the car has a 350. It originally had a 6. I think the reason it doesn't pass is because the eletrical part of the installation is not in tip top shape.

D Stroy H8 --- the car is mostly stock. the only thing it has right now is a cam and air foil. I have zz4 heads, 24# injectors, and the SLP runners sitting in the garage that I plan to install. I am just waiting to get everything I want and install it all at once. I will be ordering an afpr from bbk in about a week so I'll have that too. The only thing left is SLP headers but that might be awhile being that I don't have the 500 bucks for them right now. Them I'll have just about everything I need.
