Transmission: Automatic 4 speeds
Axle/Gears: 2.77
87 Trans Am 305 TPI manual Vs 88 GTA 305 Auto, who would win?
Okay, I used to have a 88 Trans Am GTA with a 305 TPI automatic all stock and now I'm looking at a 1987 Trans Am with a 305 TPI too but with a manual tranny. Will it be faster than my old GTA or slower? Thanks

Axle/Gears: 3.42 / ?
It depends. If both cars are in top running condition, and both are optioned similarly, I would easily put my money on the 5 speed car. But... if the auto got good gears and posi and the 5 speed car got junk gears and no posi, you never know. In any case, it sure won't be slower unless it's got some sort of problems.
