I need help. no answers w/search

Here's the problem. My car runs fine most of the time. Every once in a while, the SES light comes on and the car runs rough. The Volts go down a little, and it lopes more than normal. If I shut it off like this, it is a mother to start. It turns over, but doesn't start. If I let it set for a while, it fires right up. There is really no pattern to it either. Most of the time it comes on after I have been driving for 15-20 minutes. I can keep driving, and it will go away. The light, rough idle, everything. I just checked the codes, and I'm getting a code 34, and 44. I really don't have a good place to start looking. Here's what I have done to the car so far.
AFPR
Gutted MAF
cut air filter can
Fuel Pump
New1.6 RR
New coil
New Dist. Cap and rotor
New 8mm wires
New Bosch platinum plugs
New Optima redtop
New battery cables
That is it. No Headers or anything like that. I was having this problem before I put the new stuff in. I was trying to get rid of the hard start thing.
Let me know what you guys think. Thanks for the help.

Sounds like a dirty egr value. Have you had it hooked up to a scan tool yet?

No, I haven't hooded it up to a scanner yet. How can I clean the EGR? It is under the Plenium right? Thanks

I am having the exact same problems and I have been for quite some time and absolutely cannot find the problem. I stalled in front of a dump truck last weekend and came about 3 inches away from leaving this ole' world behind. Anyway, I've already replaced the ENTIRE EGR system, but to no avail. Here is a link to a forum I'm on. These guys gave me a bunch of ideas. Most I haven;t tried yet, but I will soon. If I can figure it out, I will be sure to email you and let you know what to look for.

Thanks for the link Eyerock. I haven't done anything to the EGR system yet. I'm still looking for a good place to start. It would almost be better if it did it all the time. I was thinking it might be some short somewhere. It sucks that you are having the same problem, but I'm a little happy that I'm not the only one. Hopefully we can kick this one together! I'll be sure to keep you up to date. Thanks again

Yeah, things like this, I just wish somthing would go ahead and break so I knew what to fix. When this happends, I get trouble codes 33/42/54. Someone suggested I have a good look at the ECM connections and the MAF system. At lest you can get your restarted. When mine stalls, it will not start for a t least 10 minutes. I know I'm getting fuel pressure so I would think I was floodong out the engine on the restart. I'm after the coil and the ignition system today. I bought some sand paper, sanding stick and terminal grease. I'm going over EVERY electrical connection and cleaning the connections and making sure they seal and make contact.

I had a similar problem but mine was the computer. When the SES light was on if I were to tap on the computer it would go off. Freakin thing was like $500 without the chip. "but its certified"
