well it does exactly what it says. you can adjust the fuel pressure. not too hard to do. just remove the plenum and remove old one and install new one. and of course i recommend it. can pick up a couple of hp with it.

What is involved in changing the regulator though? What type of fittings?
nothing really. The kit comes with everything you need. I sugest Holley's AFPR. It seems to be the best quality and easy to turn **** instead of a tiny screw. There might be a little grinding of the plenum to make it fit, but some people have had better luck. An afpr is a great tuning tool. I plan on getting the holley unit as soon as i get a job!. dam school.

The main purpose of the regulator is much more complex than people think. Its function is to keep a constant pressure on the injectors.
At idle there is a large vac in the manifold so the regulator trims back the FP with the manifold pressure as the ref. At WOT the manifold vac is zero or atmospheric pressure, so there more pressure is needed to maintain that pressure differential across the injector.
Without the regulator being able to adequately regulate the pressure, its in a sense changing the injector size as a function of your right foot. Not a good scenerio.
On a different note the Holley regulator is a great setup, and one I will most likely put on the next time I take my intake off.
