Need advice on heads and Cam set up for my 91 T/A

I have a 1991 350 TPI T/A with 92,000 miles. The valve seals are leaking and everyone want 300-500 to fix them so i decided I might as well buy new heads for that.

Ok I want the car very streetable and I dont want to have alot of problems with it and I want the A/C to still work fine. So I want a simple set up. I dont want a big cam, I would like to go with a small one but not to small. The car has a 2800 Vigalante stall right now so something that would work with that so I dont have to change it. Also give me links to parts you tell me about and prices. Thanks

Help PLZ

Im looking at this intake and plenum. I like it.

http://www.thunderracing.com/index.c...ategoryid=1125

The set up Im looking at is the above intake with Vortec heads which I can get complete for 550 a set and a Comp 270 or 280 cam. This set up was suggested to me and he wasnt sure of exactly what the cam was called. Would this be and ok set up. Id like to get the car in the 12's high or low.

Also is my motor a roller motor? I have the stock 350 TPI motor for 1991 T/A's.

Any help will be great, thanks.

That, my friend, is the Holley Stealthram, and is pretty much the most (inexpensive) popular performance intake manifold right now. Do a search and you will find anything you need to know about it.

For one, it WILL NOT work with Vortec heads. Bolt pattern is different. There have been rumors of Holley putting one out to fit the Vortec pattern, but I don't think it's happened yet.

As for cam choices, someone else will have to help you there (I know nothing about cams). You should be able to cross reference a search with the Stealthram and find lots of good choices.

Your motor should be a roller motor (with hydraulic roller lifters and a roller cam.)

BTW, I just bought the Stealthram and I can't wait to use it!

I just bought it YESTERDAY!

By the way, it will require the usual PROM tuning to run well.

I figured I would have to do tuning after getting this all in.

What will be involved in that? Will I have to have it dyno tuned or can they do it without the dyno?

There's lots of ways to do it....some guys will use a dyno, some use the seat of their pants, some use sensor readings. It's an art....look to the DIY PROM section and start reading the sticky's.

recommendation #1:
vortec heads
vortec TPI intake base
runners/TB
LT4 hotcam
tuning

this would work great with your 2800 stall

recommendation #2:
AFR heads (more money than vortecs)
holley stealth ram
LT4hotcam
tuning

This would work great too and run a lot better IMHO, but cost more as well!

How much is the LT4 Hot cam and can I still use it with the stealth ram with some heads that will work with the Stealth ram.

I refuse to pay what they want for the AFR's. LOL

Im dead set on using the Stealth ram. I have heard way to many good things about it.

Yeah seriously, go with the Stealthram and then get the Pro Topline Lightning heads to go with them....save you lots of money. At least, thats what I'm gonna do. Match it with a good cam and some tuning and you'll be in good shape. And by that I mean freaking fast shape.

Thats what I think I want along with the LT4 Hot cam if it will work with those heads.
