Just got done with motor swap from 305 TPI to 350 HSR, ??? within
Hey guys, just got my swap all buttoned up.
First things first. Swap wasn't hard at all. The only problems I encountered were hood clearance and swap from large cap HEI to remote coil HEI dizzy.
First question. Right now I'm running the stock 305 chip until I can make it to Tomball so 1bad91Z can burn me a new one. What should I set my fuel pressure at so I can quit puffing black smoke when I get into the throttle? I have FMS SVO 24# injectors that replaced the stock 19#. I originally had it set at 43 psi but I bumped it down to 40 psi but haven't driven the car yet. I also just hooked my o2 sensor back up. Will it make that big of a diff.?
Second, I'm having some irradic idling problems. Sometimes, it will idle at 700 rpm in gear and 1000 in park, sometimes at 1100 rpm in gear and 1500 in park. I know I prob need to go back and reset the IAC and TPS but why would it switch between the 2?
Third, i'm having a problem that I had before the swap. When slowing down approaching a stop sign, light, etc, the car will idle, then stall out for a split second but never actually fully stall, just a sharp drop in rpms. Usually does it 2-3 times then will go back to normal. No idea on this one...

Erratic Idle
I had similar problems with my idle and it turned out to be vacuum hoses. After clamping those all down nicely All of the inconsistancy went away (minus the miss b/c I've yet to change the sparkplugs (kcuf you edlebrock headers)).
