there is a rectangular plastic button under my dashboard with 2 wires connected to it it has the numbers 8004 on the base of it what does this do?

does it have n e thing to do with my alarm????

 

I don't know if we're talking about the same thing, but for the longest time I thought it was a yellow button underneath the center air ducts, but it turned out to be that light I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. It shines down onto the console area so you can see. Still, this may not be what you meant.

 

could you be tlaking about the button that gets pushed in/released when you push in the clutch? if so, thats the button that has to be pushed/released to allow the engine to start.

 

take it out and see if it runs ok....
