Tpi Air Intake
i was curious would the dual air intake off of the iroc camaro's with 350 tpi, ya know the one with the 2 filters in the nose of the car, fit on a 88 firebird formula??? or is there not enough clearance for it to fit?? just curious

what could i do without spending the big bucks to make the intake better??? dont have tons of money just bought a t56..YAY
not to sound like a broken record, but try to do a search cause there are a lot of threads about cold air intakes made for birds here. Ill post a few later. And welcome to the site!

I just ripped out the canister thingy and used a small piece of 45* pvc and put a huge cone filter on the end of the stock tubing.
I then fabricated a plastic heat shield and it keeps the heat from the engine and radiator from the cone filter..this is a noticable difference on both the top end and throttle response.
The biggest cost is the filter $50. The plastic heat shield is Polyproplyene 5 PP 5..used in some garbage cans ($3.99 office store). This is the same material used to make the case for car batteries.. has great chem resistance and is heat resistant with 180* continous service temp...
It doesn't look too bad and it was cheap...eventually I wanna replace the stock tubing with some aluminum..but my mock ups kept hitting the hood...

now here's a question....would the camaro tpi box fit on a firebird with a Ram-Air 1 hood (ASCD) ? Would it provide enough clearance?
