Changing Spark Plugs 305TPI
I just got an 88 Iroc Convertible with 305 TPI (all stock) Auto with AC. It runs good, but judging from the shape of the wires and air filters, I figured I should change the spark plugs at the same time.
First question - which spark plugs work best/last longest? Are the bosh platinum tips really worth the money?
Second question - It looks like most of the spark plugs are easy to get to except for the 2 near the firewall on the passenger side (the AC compressor is on that side). Are there any tricks to getting to these 2 or do I just wiggle to get my hand in there and try to do it blind.
Thanks in advance for everyone's help

I have a 90 305 TPI and I have to do it this way because of all the smog stuff:
1, 2, 3, 5 from the top, they're not too hard to get to.
4, 6, 7, 8 from the bottom, the smog stuff and other lines make 4 difficult to reach from the top w/o disconnecting anything.
You don't even need ramps if you don't have them, but they'd make it a hell of a lot easier. I was able to get under there rolling the car up on 2x4's and removing the air dam.
Spark plug wire pliars help greatly for some of the wires on the pass side (but not required). A knuckle is a must.
I'm using the Champion Copper Plus. I already had them in, but I've read you don't want platinum if you're going to run a hot ignition.
Might as well do the wires while you're at it. I did my wires about 3 months later (the wires were fine, but I wanted better), and it was "deja vu all over again" with the cursing and the kicking of the tires.
Funny thing: last owner had car serviced by a mechanic and in their tune up only 2 plugs were changed because the mechanic wasn't willing to put in too much time.
