rpm drop

Ok, when cruising around 65-70mph, or when accelerating the rpms drop 500. It seems to always occur at 2500rpm then drop to 2000, when i let of the gas the rpms go to normal, when i hit the gas the rpms drop. When accelerating the rpms are a little erratic. The car doesnt seem to want to accelerate. No ses light has come on. Its like its missing or spark retard or something. I havent been able to pull codes yet.

What do you think it is? My spark wires do need to be replaced, one has a burn in it.

Thanks,

Matt

It sounds like you have a high end power loss? I recently had similar issues and I changed the o2 sensor, it was fixed. I'd change the spark plugs too like you stated.

Are you sure it isn't your torque converter locking up?

DannyT: I dont know, it has never done this before. It just started up about a month ago when I was going back to my dorm. Out of nowhere the rpms just dropped. How can I check?

thanks

Matt
