LT1 cam + 1.6 rockers

I'm putting my leftover cam from my wife's car in my 92. I was wondering if anyone else noticed any power gains from doing this. I know it is sure to be small considering the 117 LSA and the short duration but the lift will be substantially more. I need to change the timing chain so I may as well try it. I am hoping for 10hp. What do you think?

i was thinking the same thing on my L98. granted the LT1 is not too much but better than the stock L98 Cam. that's what i'm gonna do when i rebuild the engine. budget performance. the cam and rockers were free.....

I think the LT1 cam will work pretty good. I have had a lot of people telling me not to do it but I know it has more lift and the same duration so it has to have a faster ramp. I think it will compliment the TPI.

i think people arent into it because a cam swap isnt a simple task and better cams are so cheap, it may be worth a look into...like a lt4 cam for example, find on ebay for 50 bucks...203/210 .476/.480 with 1.6 rockers...thats if u already didnt know

Didn't you port your heads, too? Gonna put those on at same time?

If you got plans for future upgrade, may want to just install the rockers and hold off on cam change... Have to get new gaskets, too.

Let us know improvements either way...please.

I changed my mind and am going with a hotcam w 1.5 rockers.

smithTC,
Yep, I ported my heads (flow 248cfm intake,185cfm exhaust), am putting hooker long tube headers on, adding a cutout and ported the crap out of and siamesed the lower plenum. I am hoping for low 13s/ high 12s.
