Looking to do HSR on 91 305 Formula

I have a 91 Formula w/ a 305.looking to do HSR setup.I have a 3.73 rear I just put in w/ Lakewood LCA and Panhard arm.50/50 shocks in rear w/ 70/30 struts up front.Hooker L/T w/ no cat and 3in stainless works exhaust.Stock 700R4 trans, going 2 do TransGo shift kit,full manual.March underdrive pulleys,manual steering, smog delete.Have 24lb injectors,Holley 52mm t/b,MSD6AL & MSD dist.I have 88 L98 heads off Formula 350, will they work w/ some work done?What cam could I run?Converter?This is street driven, so I need to have some kind drivability. Would like to go low 13s or maybe high high 12s. You're probably laughing but I would like some feedback as far as it being a 305. Car has just rolled 80k.Went to Norwalk Raceway in Ohio and it went 14.79 @ 95mph w/ no exhaust but had cat,and a 2.73 rear. Basically car was stock then.Please help a fellow 3rd gen out.Any other ?s needed let me know.Thanks:hail:

the HSR will get u high rpms and take away low end power on the 305 as i understand...u will lose torque and with the right cam and tuning ull probly get a little power up top but i get the impression it will hurt ur acceleration in low rpms...holley recommends the HSR for 350 or larger engines...the tpi with a proted plenum, nice runners and a aftermarket base will get u better results im sure...as far as the heads go they will probly work well...get some new springs and maybe port em...

I agree. If this motor isn't going to be wild, which it doesn't sound like it (stock heads), then do NOT put that intake on it. Remember, the HSR is a tunnel ram w/ F.I. Your 305 doesn't need it.

I agree too. Go with a stock TPI and port it out. The HSR is overbreathing that engine. To put it in perpespective, the HSR on a stock L98 (350) gains about 3 or 4 tenths without tuning. Your 305, without tuning, will gain less than that.

Like I said I would like low 13s or maybe high 12s.Laugh all you want, but I figured it went 14.8 at 95mph, 2.1 60ft stock w/2.73 gear.I figured low 13s would be no problem.Ive got 3.73 gear, 70/30 drag struts 50/50 shocks,lca w/traction bars,panhard bar,also looking to do tubular front k member and a arms.So I think Ive suspension down, now I just want to add power.Oh and M/T ET streets on GTA Honeycombs.This is the cam I was thinking of doing.

With 1.6 on intake and 1.5 on exhaust.Roller rockers of course.Ive got Crane golds.What heads would be better than port/polish the L98 heads?Thinking maybe ZZ4 heads?
