Running Rich Question
Hi Everyone -
My car is running a code 42 anad 25. The service engine soon light comes on sporadically. Car has a new oxygen sensor (3 months old), new wires and plugs, new MAF, rebuilt tranny, fuel injector and throttle body cleaning. Running rich has caused me to work through my cat and muffler. THe car still runs, but you can tell they're a bit plugged and hear the metal in the muffler.
My mechanic says there's a misfire that he can't trace on the outside, considering all the work we've already done to it. He says the engine would eventually need to be torn into and rebuilt, so I should drive it to the ground or sell it. I trust this guy, he's ASE Certified and he's fixed problems others couldn't.
My question is - HOW DO I CHEAT AND LEAN OUT MY MIXTURE?
