Cold Startup is RICH!

Got a '88 GTA all rebuilt. Starts great when cold, but I can't stand the rich smell out the back. All 9 injectors sent to Cruzin Performance, and all the sensors and fuel pump replaced (except the MAF, CSI, and the CSI switch). Fuel pressure is fine. The AutoXray shows no codes, but the BLM's are around 108 at idle when hot. ECM Coolant Temp sensor reading fine, but I can't test the MAF because it is giving me reading like 2000 grams/sec (heard this can be a AutoXray bug!?). Don't know if MAF even comes into play though. Wondering if Bosch Platinums plugs could be fouled from an earlier problem, or maybe the injectors are just plain wore out. Anyone else with a '88 and older TPI have this problem? I am lost!

Pat

Well, if you sent the injectors to Cruzin performance than you can pretty much rule out them being "worn out".
what "could" be happening is that the thermo-time switch that operates the CSI is stuck on and dumping lots of fuel when it shouldn't be.

Well, my game plan is to hookup my voltmeter and see what the heck the CSI is doing (I already know it's not leaking). I am also going to pull the plugs and see what is going on there. I have a feeling the injectors have a slow leak to where it doesn't effect my hot start, but makes my cold start rich from sitting during the night..?? I was just wondering if others dealt with this issue. Pat

Just unplug the CSI harness from the injector and try starting it, if it doesn't run rich, the thermotime switch is probably bad.
