I am buying 30lb injectors from f f f f ord...There I said it. My question is this: I want to buy them from Summit. Summit says they have two sets of 30lb Ford injectors. One set of eight costs 362 dollars and are flow tested or matched to within one half percent whereas the other set has a 6 or 7 percent possible variance for 219.00. This is the first I have heard of this. The ad also says the 219 ones are for MAF tuned systems only. I have SD. They are made by Ford Motorsports. I do need to have injectors that will respond properly for my setup as I will be racing the car occasionally and I have a custom chip. I got rid of my Accels because the injectors were all ready too differently and I thought they were going static on me at WOT. I want SVO's but which ones should I get. Does anyone know where else to buy them?
To simplify this: Matched or unmatched?

An injector is an injector(not counting high/low impedance), it doesn't care if you have MAF or S/D.
Matched or unmatched? Well that depends on you and your application. You'd get a more even idle if they were closely matched, thats for sure. Are you planning on running boost or N02? If so I'd get the matched ones to ensure a balanced fuel delivery.

I figured it didnt matter about the MAF. I am not running boost or N02 on this setup. I will do that on my next motor but then I will need bigger injectors cuz I will be running more hp. Then I guess umatched would be good? What about low or high impedance then? I had accel high impedance but should I switch to lows?Originally posted by Morley

No, stay with high's. The low impedance injectors won't work with your ECM, mostly for aftermarket injection systems (Race etc)Originally posted by CaptPicardsZ28

I agree with Morley, I think you want only high impdence injectors. Concerning the 30#/hr Ford injectors, they will flow 31.5#/hr at 43.5psi (our stock fuel pressure), 34.0#/hr at 50psi, and 36.6#/hr at 58psi. That is alot of fuel especially at idle.
Those injectors are very large and you will diffinately need a chip burned for the correct flow rate. I suggest that maybe you think about the 24#/hr Ford injectors. I will be using 24s in my 395 cu in motor which is in the process of being biult.

Thanks for all your advice. I should clarify that I already have a custom chip now that is burned for the 30lb injectors. I am replacing my lousy Accels with Ford SVO's. I am going with the unmatched high impedance. I have high impedance now. My car seemed to rune better at 42psi. I know others are running higher tho. I will get the 219 dollar ones. Thanks again. I doubt they were going static unless your FP was really high, or you're making 427+hp, if you are I'd like to know your setup.

24#ers are OK if you're rev limit is 5k, otherwise use 30#ers.Originally posted by doc

My motor was built for 450hp. I am running 500hp now. I prefer not to share with others what i am running for a set-up other than whats in my sig. Sorry...Originally posted by rgarcia63
