I think I found the cam your looking at the emission legal cams or at least thats the only cams crane makes with those lift numbers. the first one looks about like a stock peanut cam. The second one looks like a stock non-peanut cam. Advertised duration tends to have to many variables to be accurate. For the most part people tend to look at .05 duration #'s. I'd look for something close to or under 210 intake duration and around 218 exhaust duration. You may want a cam ground on 112 LSA that won't lope as much as one ground on 110 also.

N8MAN1068 that cam will probably be way too big for a 305 unless you plan to really rev the **** out of it. Remember that roller cams peak earlier than flat tappet cams.

1bad, i'm probably the worst person to ask about which cams to run.
I get my info from sharing DD2000 cam files and running them with my setup, and from asking here and cam companies.

Most people here are saying that the cam i mentioned is too big for a 305. I guess it all depends on what you want to do with your engine, how you drive, what parts you're upgrading .
Would I get a larger cam and stick it in an other wise stock engine? no. I'm running the full gammut of heads/intake/headers, stall and cam, and still won't know how the 305 handles it until it's all put together later this summer.

Here is a cam I am running right now in a 383 stroker:

Specifications:
* Advertised duration: 272 intake/282 exhaust
* Duration at .050 in. cam lift: 214 intake/224 exhaust
* Gross valve lift: .442 in. intake/.465 in. exhaust
* Lobe separation: 112 degrees
* RPM range: 2,000 to 4,500
* Good idle quality

I think it would be a good cam to run with a 305 and pretty much stock TPI.

Here is a whole kit but smaller cam:

In my car 86 TPI I ran a crane cam from JEGS with great results. It was 440/454 lift and can not remember the duration. WORKED GREAT. Look in Jegs under their Crane cam section. Ran 9 flat in the 1/8'' with just that and Edelbrock shorties

Advertised Duration: 266º
Duration @ .050: 210°
Lobe Separation: 110°
Gross Lift: .440''
RPM Range: 1600-4600

Fevre im a little nervous running a summit brand cam in my car. I would rather go with comp or crane, if somebody could help my find one that would be great! thanks
