Intermittent 305TPI fuel/ignition system problem...Need help quick...

Hey all, I need some help pretty bad on my 88 305 TPI M5...It has an intermittent problem with the iginition or fuel system that causes it not to be able to rev above 3K, shake hard above 2K, and have a massive power loss...It feels and smells like a fuel issue, since it smells very rich...I checked my coil and plug wires for spark, I am getting it..When it happens, it will not go away, it does it in every gear, neutral, and with clutch depressed or open. If I turn off the car for about 1 minute, it goes away for a while, but will return. It does flash an SES light solid, but I don't have my Chilton's with me, which ALDL connectors do I jump to get the code? An ideas on how to fix the car would be hot, too.

TIA...

Well, it looks like it was just bad gas...from 2 different gas stations...Never had that problem. I finished off most of te current tank and put in 5 bucks worth, and it was fine. The odd thing is the last 2 places I went I have been to many times, even with the Z28...Never had any problems before, and they are name brand. Odd.
