Idle/stumble problem

I went and fired my truck up after getting the TPI installed and I am having stumbles off idle and it is just running like crap.

So I tried disconnecting the MAF sensor and my idle got better and my stumble has been eliminated. Does this mean my MAF is bad? I am just running a cone K&N on the end of my MAF right now, but it does it with or without the filter installed. Thanks

Harley

P.S. The truck is an 85 K5 Blazer with 350 that I converted to 88 MAF TPI from a Firebird.

It sounds to me like you have a bad MAF sensor do you have the ALDL under the dash? if so it should read a code 34 if it does replace the maf sensor. that should be it.

Nice truck. I've got an '87 K5.

Sounds like a bad MAF to me. Check for codes as mentioned.

Oh, and that's just the stuff I listed. It doesn't count the 1917 Model T Ford truck I've got that I'm waiting to sell. I also had a '74 Nova SS that I'm mostly finished parting out, but the shell is still taking up space in my garage. My old 5.0 Mustang is still around too. I sold it to my brother, but he hasn't done anything with it, so at this point I think it's as much mine as it is his, given all the work I put into it before the motor went south.

I am a recovering autoaholic. I haven't bought a new vehicle in about two years, but I'm still just taking it one day at a time.
