IAC steps
Just ran a scan with a friend's Auto X-Ray and found that my IAC is reading 144 steps. This is with the key in the "on " position and in park.
Could my no-start problem be caused by this? If so, how do I fix it?
A little history...
Car cranks and cranks, but doesn't fire up. I can hear cylinders kicking and it acts like it wants to fire, but doesn't. I've rebuilt the entire ignition system: new coil, cap, rotor, pickup coil, ignition module. I haven't hooked up the test noid to the fuel injectors yet, but I'll be doing that tomorrow.

I've read that one.
Problem is, I can't find any definitive answer on what it should be reading.

Oh suuuure,
make me spend entire minutes looking. heh
Maybe there is no "end-all" number, but hit this.
K
PS Search "iac AND counts" and you get a pile of posts.

If your engine is off, key on, and you're seeing 144 counts, that's normal. For instance, on a stock AUJP (90-92 TPI), the IAC park position is 160 counts. The park position refers to how the IAC "parks" the little pintle when the engine is off.
If your engine is on, how many counts do you read? Should be less than 30 in park. If it's over 30, you may want to reset your idle. I put my IAC counts "when in gear" to about 10.
As far as the no start condition, check your AutoXray for any recorded codes. Check your ECM fuse as well.
