never noticed much on mine except that it "felt" like it pulled a little harder. Then again that feeling went away the next day.. My opinion is that I just don't have enough mods for it to be beneficial. Some have reported good gains; others have reported that it's a waste of money.

try one out.. they're cheap enough

From most of the people Ive tlaked too, it didn;t do anything noticeable. I rekon it;s sort of like putting octane boost in your car...if you think hard enough, maybe you'll feel a difference. Granted, I did feel a difference with mine, but thats only because I removed the MAF screens and got K&N filters at the same time.

A little hint when doing mods. When you're doing the small mods (like the airfoil), save your money and do more than one mod at a time. This way, you might actaully feel a difference and the money spent is more justified at that point.

While we're at it, how about those 58mm throttle bodies? Are they worth the $$? I read somewhere a long time ago on this board that they dont help anything, but it was a bit vague. Would it be good for my car with my mods(sig) or no?

From what I've read concerning the 58mm on these boards, you're probably doing more bad than good unless you've got some serious HP to back it up. The 52mm gets much better praise.

Then again, for a litt more than the price of some of the 58mm's, you could just go to a HSR and be happier.

Maybe if the cam you listed had the same duration at .050 instead of 244 advertised duration, not to mention the intake and heads to keep up with it.

You might see a little gain, but you'd be better buying one and sending it to me . IMO your wasting your money if you still have stock heads, intake, and cam not to mention stock exhuast.

WE WERE TALKING ABOUT K&N FILTERS YESTERDAY.I WILL TELL HIM WHAT YOU SAID AND TRY TO GET HIM TO DO THE AIRFOIL & FILTERS TOGETHER.I DONT KNOW HOW TO DO THE MAF SCREENS,SO WE WILL LEAVE IT ALONE.WE ARE PRETTY NEW AT THIS,AND WE APPRECIATE EVERYONES INPUT. THANKS:hail:

Thanks for the input everyone. In addition to whats in my sig, i'm probably going to put in a slightly more radical cam, Summit part SUM-K1102(was suggested to me, don't have the specs yet)....also, I'm doing the heads on the 305....port, polish, new springs, valves, etc.....and adding Hooker 2055's and SLP Runners....this all in the next few months....so I'll have to decide between the 52 or 58mm throttle bodies...

for the cheap price of an air foil, its still a mod and does at least something to the air coming in.

smoothes out the air flow a bit.

Man if I could get a guarnteed 1HP for every $35 spent I think it is worth it. I also think it benefits more with port work on the plenum. The whole idea is to smooth airflow but the stock plenum has a wall right behind the TB that would disrupt that flow almost instantly. I have one will be porting next. One thing to keep in mind is that I haven't ever witnessed one aftermarket product with HP gains they claim, to have actual results in the real world. TB bypass claimed 8 HP - No way
Airfoil seen claims from 5-10 HP not quite
Aftermarket runners 10-20 HP not if you just slap them on.
K&N filter 10HP- Hardly
Catback 20HP- Nope
High flow cat 5-10HP- Uh uh

Man if all this stuff did what it claims I woudl be over 300HP now truth is I maybe 10-20 over stock if I am lucky (will find out dyno later this month)

As far as TB 58 is probably to big for any 305. Go 52 and that won't do anything for you until you replace heads and get everything else breathing better.
