um... yes, you can do headers. theres companies that make then for SBC swaps in S-10 and S-15's. My friend has a 307 in his 88 S-10 and it has headers.

what you can do depends on the tools you have. you can port out the plenum, runners, and intake, or buy some SLP runners and siamese them, make your own CAI, LT1 cams go for pretty cheap, can add some roller rockers too.

i can't use headers because i'm useing the t-5 tranny and the other, longtube headers, i have camaro wheels in the front and they'll rub with the pipe that goes outside the frame. it would work just if i could do something with those 2 pipes that run out into the wheel wells.

Try block hugger styler headers. Those are designed to fit into the cramped spaces that develop inside street rods. Worth a shot.

Anyway... cold air intake, hugger headers, catback, u/d pulleys, ported plenum, ported base. That handful of mods will do for stage-1 VERY nicely

After that, some cost effective world products heads and a carefully chosen cam will do wonders for all the new breathing capacity.

I was thinking of recommending the same thing, but you can definatly fit regualy shorty headers in there..

if you put huggers the flanges face the ground, and a custom y-pipe will have to be made for them..so why not put in shortys and have an exaust shop make a custom y-pipe for them so you wont have any rubbing problems?

it's not hard, just think it out.

Also i it lowered? people usually lower those kind of trucks. if not then run dual exaust lol.

i also looked at those hugger hueaders. they won't work because they'd empty out RIGHT on the crossmember. if u guys can find any that collect maybe 2/3 of the way back from the front(like the stock manifods) they would work. i can't tho
