LPE 219 cam and dist. gear??

Do I need a bronze distributer gear for the LPE 219/219 cam?? I was sure I would, but want to be positive. Thanks

No, they use iron distributor gears that allow you to use the OE gear on the distributor. You may want to throw a new GM gear onto the distributor anyway. They're only about $18 Canadian.

I found out why I was confused!! I called LPE and they told me the cams they had on sale for $250 needed a bronze gear. That's where the confusion came from.

Now that's interesting.....I bought one of their 219 cams on sale last summer and installed it with my stock dist. gear. Do you happen to have the part numbers for both the cam that requires the bronze gear and the one that doesn't??

If you go to the website I think they are still on sale(part #'s are there). I would just call LPE tech and see what they say. Paul I honestly think you are fine, I could have misunderstood what the guy was trying to tell me???.
