1991 Z28 350 tpi dies on occasion when started
My Z28 dies on occasion when I try to start it. I have to hold the gas pedal down and put it in gear to work. It doesnt do it all too often, mostly in the morning or when its cold. I live in California so it doesnt really get freezing cold. When I bought new tires the other day, my car was acting up at the tire shop. I ran into a bloke there who had an 80's vett and he said its my IAC valve. Does that sound right? I have good oil pressure. Where is the IAC valve located? I looked through my camaro book and it didnt have a good decription on its location. Cheers sticky
the IAC stuff should be attached to the underside of the TB. i never had mine off before so i dont know to much about them.
they get dirty and usually need cleaning after awhile.
the connector is on the passengers side of the throttle bottle.

The IAC is located under the tps sensor, its on the front left side of the throttle body. It has a a square 4 wire connector plugged into it. IAC stands for Idle Air Control valve. I just replaced mine, i was having the same problems as you. There is a link in the tech articles on how to adjust it.
Good luck..
