Porting Edelbrock heads

I have edelbrock E-tec 200 heads with sdpc tpi base. I was thinking of porting them. since they are vortec will this hurt them? maybe the valves will be shrouded.

I have the same heads and I'm going to gasket match them and clean up the ports with some sanding rolls. I may work on the valve guides and contour them better if possible. I'll check out the exhaust side while I'm in there and do some bowl work if needed. I mainly just want to clean them up, from the flow numbers I've seen on them they flow good already.

This first thing you should do is change the springs....they're junk for anything over .525 lift and over 6200 rpm. Even though there SUPPOSEDLY good to .600 lift.....BS!
