Recently aquired an 87 Z-28. Not sure what size engine it has though. 8th digit of the vin is F which makes me think its a 305. But then I ran the vin and rpo codes and it said it was a 305 HO. Could it be? I didnt even know they made 305 tpi HO's. And then under the hood, on the far left sticker it says 5.0 Liter and then right under that it says 5.7 Liter

 

I would go by the vin number since stickers and hoods could have been replaced by the original owner.

F- indicates an LB9 engine code which is a 305 TPI. Correct me if i am wrong but all TPI engines are considered HO since they had a higher HP/TQ rating compared to a carburated and a TBI engines..

Is it a T5 or a auto?

 

Its an auto. But its weird how the top sentence says 5.0 Liter then the sentence right under that says 5.7 Liter. We checked my dads out since he has an 86 Iroc and his only says 5.0

yeah man. i tried to take a pic earlier but it was too dark out. I will definetly get one up tommorow though.

What youve got is an 87 305......the same as mine...when I pull my vin it also says 5.0 HO...heres a picture of my sticker and it also has to 5.7 number your talkin about..I didnt notice that till reading this post....and it doesnt say 5.7 liter it just has the 5.7 numbers...it does say 5.0 liter though

your just wishing...I wish it was that easy to have a 350!...LOL
