TPiS EGR Blockoff Plate on new setup.
TPiS EGR Blockoff Plate on new setup.
Ok, I bought a used Edelbrock HiFo TPI base awhile back from someone here at tgo. Anyways, i have the whole new tpi setup sittin in my closet and plan on installing it soon (slp runners, afpr, ported plenum, #24's, bbk tb), but the base has the TPiS egr block off plate on it. I don't have to worry about emissions, so should i leave the plate on?
Will it throw a code if its not disabled? Hurt performance?

Josh, it will probably throw a code if egr isn't disabled in your prom. If you are currently using your egr, you might as well keep it functional, and then sell that shiny block-off plate, lol! It is a topic of debate on whether the egr robs you of power, but I don't believe that it does. I removed it just because I was going to a miniram (or so I thought, lol), so I burnt my prom for no egr.
