Re: looking for the best afpr

I think that the best afpr by experience and by word of mouth is going to be a TPIS afpr, i had one on my 87 IROC and it worked good, but then my buddy has a Holley on his 88 IROC and he very pleased with the way that it worked. But i think that the best bet is go with the TPIS. Best of luck!!!

Holley is the only one I know of that makes an AFPR that uses a dial to make adjustments. The rest use a bolt sticking out of the top of the AFPR which for most makes it harder to adjust because its either too close to or it hits the plenum.

It's true that you can increase the amount of fuel being delivered by the fuel injector through programming, but at some point you'll be pulsing the injectors at more than 85% duty cycle, which is the upper limit of the fuel injector. Any duty cycle higher than this will drastically reduce the life of the injector. By installing a fuel pressure regulator you are effectively increasing the flow rate of the injector and can deliver more fuel per pulse width.

Hope that made sense.
