Will the stock ported intake be good enough to support the flow of the superram.ill have edelbrock 170cc heads.and the zz-9 cam.i hopeing for this car to be in the 12's with this set up.i also have 3.73 gears and will be installing a 2800 stall.but i dont have the cash for a $500 aftermarket intake right now.

There is no simple answer here my friend.

It really depends on your skill in porting. If you know what your doing you should have no problem at all getting another 15-20 cfm out of the stock base, which should push your combo nicely into the 12s with traction and a good tune.

However if you dont know what it takes to get the porting done right then your results will vary.

To elaborate, the stock base will work. It will need a maximum port job and port matching to the heads and runners. However, it will not bring out all the power... it will always be the bottleneck even after the extensive port work. An aftermarket base is needed to gleen the superior powerband that the superram offers.
