Need Help. Car will not start

I put together a 383, TF heads 219 cam SR and LS1 25lbs injectors. My timing is right. Valves are adjusted right, I have spark and I have fuel. my plugs are dripping wet. It sounds like it wants to fire but it wont. Then when I let off I get a pop in the exhaust. triple checked the timing and it was all good. Any ideas?

89 Formula. Chip has been burned for the injectors.

The distributor could be 180* out or the CTS could be messed up.. Hook up a scanner to it and see what the puter is doing when you are trying to start it.

IAC might have been set wrong way. As a result throttle air bypass does not provide enough air. Can you tap gas pedal when cranking? Does it make a difference? If so - it's IAC.

Another possibility - bad MAF or MAP sensors.

Everything worked perfect on the car before I put the new shortblock in and Injectors. Everything else is off the new combo. I am now thinking about the air situation. It sounded like it wanted to fire but then BAM out the back. I want to redo the valves and open the throttle a little more just to get it going. I hate flooding it out with a new motor.
