performance rebuild?
I need some help. I just got my Formula 350 and I know that it at least has a blown head gasket, if not a cracked head. Car Craft installed a nitrous kit, and well....

So, what I need now is known combos that perform. I live in California, so it needs to stay smog legal, (at least once every two years) I want to keep as much of the motor stock as possible. But what heads are you using, and why? What cam: duration @.050?, lobe lift?, lobe seperation? What compression ratio? What kind of rockers?, roller, or stamped?, what ratio? And what ever else for that matter.
I do have full exhaust. Edelbrock headers, high flow cat, and I'm not sure about the muffler.
Thanks for all of your help, Stingerssx

That motor was not running right to begin with and they stick a 125 shot on it...
16 second et's for stock 350 TPI is really sad....
IT should have been running closer to the number they got on nitrous stock....with a 125 shot a good running 350 tpi with a couple bolt ons should run 12's all day...
And we wonder why our cars get a bad rap....
Anyway I live in MD have a strict emissions test and pass every two years ...you just have to "tune for emissions"when they come around....i.e stock fuel pressure /timing...cat...with that in mind as long as you stick to emissions friendly mods you'll be fine....but if your good enough tuner you can get it to pass with mini-rams and the like as well...

With out any help, I've come up with this combo:
.o3o over, 9.5 to 10:1 comp ratio, either forged, or Hypereutectic pistons, port matching, minor porting on the intake and heads, Vortec or Edelbrock heads, Lt4 hot cam or lt1, or ZZ4 cam, 1.6 roller rockers, screw in studs, arp rod and head bolts, MSD 6a or 6al, and then go from there. Any suggestions?
