STILL not starting...so close!!!!!!
The car's been down over a year...again. This go around, I found a broken wire going from the coil to the distributor and replaced it. In the meantime, my MSD coil had burned out, as had my ignition module, both brand new. I have replaced both of them and got everything fixed.
I've been playing with it all weekend and it's still not firing. I've narrowed the problem down to the coil. It's intermittently firing. When I turn the key, I get the first two sparks out of it, then nothing. It does this every time.
The pickup coil is brand new and tests out perfectly. The ignition module is brand new, and had Autozone test it before I walked out of the store with it. The coil, again, is brand new and also tests out perfectly. The grey connector to the coil is also testing out like it should. VATS is working fine. Computer is fine. I've got proper fuel pressure that doesn't start to drop till about ten minutes after I let off the key. Compression is good. Rockers haven't been touched from when it was running before.
What could I be missing here?

you said your fuel pressure bleeds down, maybe you have an injector or 2 leaking, try getting in the car and pushing the gas pedal all the way to the floor and trying to start it. This will put the computer into "clear flood mode and temporarily shut of the injectors when you try to start it

Tried that already. Same old story.
The fuel pressure bleeds down from 46psi to 40 about ten minutes after the key's been turned back to the off position. That's pretty normal from what I've seen.

I've looked over every schematic I could find that pertains to the ignition system and have troubleshooted everything all the way through. This is killing me.
I swear, man. If this car wasn't paid for, and I didn't have so much of myself invested in it, I'd sell it.

Not sure about 'F' body cars, but on some 'Y' body cars running the TPI engine, the pick-up coil and the ignition coil must be matched.
The GM Shop Manual cautions that is the pick-up coil has a yellow wire, the ignition coil must have a yellow wire. It seems to be a polarity issue.
Accel makes two coils for the Vette engine thru 89, one has red and white wires and the other has yellow and (forgot the other color) wires. The Vette engine calls for a coil with Red and White Wires.
Just a thought.
