car is in the signature. i think i do NOT have cold start, but im not certain. what is it? and do i hvae it? thanks!

 

You can look to make sure (the cold start injector will be at the bottom middle of the drivers-side runners). 1989 should not have a cold start injector (only MAF system without it).

That said, you do have cold start provisions. The ECM just squirts more from all eight injectors on cold start.

 

i believe 85-88 tpi were MAF with a cold start, 89 was MAF without cold start and 90-92 was speed density without cold start.

 

The 89 V6 2.8L was the only model for that year that had the cold start injector.
