Finished porting my Edelbrock

Here is my port job on the Edelbrock intake manifold, the Edelbrock runners, and plenum have all been port and gasket matched. The difference is hard to see when there side by side in this first shot, but the golf ball comparison really shows the difference. All I really had to do to the manifold was open up the port lips, as they are designed to be used with stock runners and gaskets if you choose.

Stock manifold ports, for all those who ask why can't I just port my stock manifold, notice how you are limited on material around the edges of golf ball. Had to hold it up because it would not even rest on ledge.

Ok now the Edelbrock, theres plenty of material left even after doing this porting.

Sweet! Looks great. Are you going to shoot the manifold w/hi temp clear too?

Actually if you look in the first pic that is already powder coated chrome with a clearcoat. The manifolds come stock in that very bland cast color, so that powder brightened it up quite a bit. Sometimes its tough see the shine in a pic.

Oh, my apologies. I did not know all that. I did my tbi intake, but never even knew about the hi temp clear until I had installed it. So now I have something else that will require polishing on a regular.
*EDIT*
Now I just have to clean up the rest of the engine bay so you can see it

Like I said, looks great, hope it performs just as well.. Did you get any work done on it yet? I wanna see it when you're done, but most of all I want to know how it runs.

No I am stalled trying to decide what to do about splash shields for the new valve covers. The company was supposed to send them but they never arrived. Easy to get them on and off with no intake on there so I am trying to wait till everything is ready. At worst good guys show in Pleasanton this weekend (6/5-6/6)I will pick them up there from the same company. Or I might just put it back together now see how it holds up without shields, then tear back into it and do valve seals and 1.6 rockers when I get around to the headers. I just haven't decided, getting impatient is never a good thing.

Which gaskets did u use for the matching? The reason i ask is that im sticking a super ram on an edelbrock highflo baseplate. If i use those gaskets, there doesnt look like there's gonna be a lot of material left.

I used Mr.Gasket # MRG-146 when ordering from Summit. They are already a fat 1.75" Dia. so the only gasket cutting I needed to do was to Siamese the upper runner to plenum part of them to match this,
