The grease that you put on the bottom of the ignition module...anybody know where this can be bought?
Plus the name of it?
I just replaced mine the other day but the connector going to it broke, and I need to redo it again and I figured I will need to put more on the bottom of the module again...

Go buy yourself a tube of dielectric grease :-)

6-7$ for a tube(like silicone) I use it on almost all conncetors and it makes it possible to pull your plug wires off if u put a little on them boots too

Thanks...I read that the grease helps keap heat away from the module...didn't know if there was a certain kind or not.

You should be able to buy dielectric grease in little packets at your local auto parts store for probably less than a buck.

I could be wrong because I'm not sure what dielectric grease is, but I do know that particular kind of grease is thermal grease. It's used to extract heat away from the module. That is what you need. I know this because I am a bit of a computer guy too and that is what you use between a cpu and a cpus' heat synk.

Yep, special compound that has a metallic base that actually transfers heat from the module to the dist. base. Not a dilectric grease. Real white looking stuff. New modules come with it but maybe Autozone or Advance will have it in the small packets. Pretty important, maybe you can scrape up the present stuff to the middle of the base and have enough.
