did a search....even more confused

ok I searched and got nothing but debates. I am converting my 305 tbi over to tpi. I know the 305 tpi used a different knock sensor, and the 350 used again a another sensor. because my setup is a big mix of stock and aftermarket tpi parts I am just having a custom chip made. can the new custom tpi chip be made to work with the resistance signals from the tbi knock sensors? can a tpi system use that kind of sensor? why did they use different knock sensors on the different setups? are they in some way better at detecting knocks? some answers would be nice

Since your question is mainly about your chip being burned a certain way you might have better luck at the DIY or ECM boards. Yes the knock sensors are different. MAF knock sensor is different than a Speed density system knock sensor. I would guess they are different because the two systems are different. Thats the best I can do with your question.
