What's this?

Does anyone know where this sensor connects too? I found it coming out of the wire harness that runs along the firewall. It branches out right next to the distributor and above the oil pressure sending unit. It extends out about 5 inches.

Intake Air Temperature (IAT)?????????

...if I'm correct, the actual sensor is under the plenum.

There is a sensor that is plugged in to the back underside of the plenum already.
If anyone could follow that wiring harness on their tpi and take a look for me I would appreciate it.

if you can, lay the connector down and take a picture from farther away, so we can see where it is coming from, I just went to llok at mine and couldn't find anything like that. Is it in the center of the firewall, or more towards a certain side? also what year is your car because the wiring is alittle different between the years.

It looks like it might be from your EGR solenoid. Goto your coil and see if there is an EGR solenoid still bolted onto the bracket below the coil.

EGR Solenoid? What? What is the purpose of an EGR solenoid? Doesn't the EGR work on vacuum?

I think I have that same exact wire disconnected, too. There's a few other wires that don't have a connector, in other places too (Passenger side dash)

but the car runs fine, after it's started, and has no codes (although the SES has been coming on and off in the last few weeks)

EGR solenoid will introduce and block vaccum to the EGR valve based on electrical inputs to the ECM.
